Kentucky Derby / Cinco De Mayo Weekend

It’s the best of both worlds when the old South goes south of the border! Get your derby hat ready and sip mint julep’s by the pool. The Derby will be live stremed in the event hall! Bring some $$ and join the pool. Only one can win! Afterwards, it’s a Mexican fiesta for dinner and a margarita happy hour as we celebrate Cinco de Mayo!

Suggested Attire: Derby Attire/Hat (Day), Fiesta (Sombrero) attire (Night)

Welcome Home to Whispering Oaks!  Our 21 and over men only retreat is open 365 days a year.  Enjoy our heated pool (when open during Summer), hot tub, sauna, volleyball court, courtyard games. hiking trails, heated showers, and our indoor play area appropriately named, the Woodshed.  During event weekends, all meals are included and served in the dining hall and the schedule offers a variety of entertainments including themed parties, dance nights, cocktails, games and shows featuring the cast of Whispering Oaks LIVE!  Here is what’s lined up for this weekend!

**SUGGESTED ATTIRE – Derby attire and hats for Saturday afternoon, and Fiesta (Sombrero) attire at dinner**

Friday – 5/1
7PM – WELCOME HOME Potluck – Bring a dish to share and join us in the dining hall for a social hour and some good food!
9PM – FIRESIDE FRIDAYS– Bask in the glow of the campfire and get to know your fellow campers.  BYOB or bring a bottle to pass.
10PM – WO AFTER DARK – The heat is on so head to the woodshed for steamy fun, relax in the hot tub or join the conversation around the fire.

Saturday – 5/2
8AM to 10AM – CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST served in the Dining Hall
10AM-12PM  – INTO THE WOODS – The trail map has been updated for 2026 so scan the QR code at the office and hit one of our many hiking trails to enjoy the mountain air and the start of Spring.
12PM – LUNCH – Chicken Salad, Croissants, Sliced Tomatoes, Dessert
2PM – HOBBY HORSE RACE – Meet in the courtyard for an exciting Hobby Horse Race.  Pick your horse and run the course. Fastest 4 horses advance to a final round.
3PM – 5PM – COURTYARD GAMES – Join us in the courtyard for Cornhole, Jenga, Connect 4, etc.
5PM – 152nd Kentucky Derby Party – Gear up in your best Derby attire and join for the livestream of the most exciting 2 minutes outside of the Woodshed! Enjoy Mint Julep’s donated by Austin from site 37. Bring some cash and draw a horse. Winner take all!
6:30PM – DINNER – Taco bar with all the fixings, chips and Salsa, Dessert
8:30PM – Whispering Oaks LIVE! Join the Whispering Oaks Cast along with their guests for a variety show like no other!
10PM-12PM – Red Rooster Café Open – Enjoy a late night slack (or drink mixers)
10PM – UBU WO After Dark– After the show, stick around and dance in the Hall, hit the hot tub or the campfire, or venture to the Woodshed, or hit them all.  The evening is yours!

Sunday – 5/3
8AM to 10AM – CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST served in the Dining Hall
11AM CHECK OUT – Check out of your room but stay and enjoy all our facilities.
11AM – 1PM – Red Rooster Café open – Grab a snack before hitting the road or while lounging around on a lasy Sunday Funday!

11AM TO 6PM – RRR Day! Enjoy all of our facilities as long as you like!  Recuperate, Reset, and plan your Return!  We can’t wait to see you again!

NOTE: MEALS START ON TIME!  Listen for the dinner bell to ring. If you arrive late, people are already getting seconds, and your choices may be limited.
